My room at the end (07/06/12)

Around nine month ago I made some pictures to show how my room looks like. I did it again. So now everyone can get an own impression how it changed or not. Nevertheless I feel fine and little bit like home in this room. But now I am looking forward to see my old room in Germany again, sleep in my old bed and meet all my friends and family...

Bar Tömmning (07/06/09)

... or the question why drunken people have to kiss each other. Empty the bars in Kårhuset was the motto of this party and too many people took it quite serious and become unserious after a while... or let us better say... wasted. I don't remember when the Kåren was so crowded the last time. This shows: Cheap alcohol attracts people. How easy the world can be.

Kubb + BBQ (07/06/08)

It was a swedish birthday party, I guess. But I am not sure if this is true or if it was just another goodbye party. So or so I played Kubb, Frisbee and had very tasty vegetarian Burgers. The party later on in a flat of two swedish guys was quite interesting, since their way of decorating the flat was a little bit different to the standard exchange students flats.

Östersund (07/06/02-03)

Meeting the remaining people from EILC on last time in Östersund and enjoying the beautiful weather there was not the only reason to take the train to the west. Also Malgosia was celebrating into her birthday. I felt a little bit like holiday after my first draft of my diploma thesis. Now it is just two more weeks until I will finish my 2nd semester in Sweden.

Medel Paddeln (07/05/26)

Every year around the last weekend of May there is a big boat race on the river next to the university. Most of the exchange students (~41) went to Höga Kusten but a small bunch of people (most likely the "old" Erasmus) could resists and watched the race like me. Ulrich even take part and won one race. I skipped the idea because I had to work.

Visit from Gema (07/05/24-27)

Surprise... surprise... what more to say. On thursday a visitor from Spain arrived in the early evening. Doing the spanish way she did not use the phone-bell to tell us that she arrived but screamed up till the 4th floor. At this moment I knew that there will be much more life than normal in Nacksta... at least for this weekend. Oh, it was sooo nice. Thanks for the visit.

Calaisa Live (07/05/08)

Today Sebastian, Markus and I went to a concert of Calaisa, a swedish girlband. We expected to stand in a group of young people screaming... and we got a relaxed lounge atmosphere with tables in front of us, drinks from a bar and around 100 listeners. Almost everybody of them was older than we. It was very very good. I even bought a CD from them...

Big Salsa (07/05/05)

No, I am doing something else than going to Salsa parties. Although my galleries look like this. On this party there were all kind of people from 16 to 60 and in all kind of dresses. The live band was really great. Probably the best Salsa Band of Sweden ;) At least it costed 40.000 SEK. The party was at the Stadhuset which had only one toilette. But it was clean till the end...

Salsa Pre-Party (07/03/31)

This time I name my gallery after the pre-party because I made much more pictures there than during actual (salsa-)party Perhaps because of the funny game Nadja played with us. Since it has been a long time ago that I danced salsa for the last time I felt a little bit rusty but anyway it was nice to see the others dancing.

Unbelievable... Three weeks since the last gallery. What has happend in this time. Much work for the university. Some applications for Master thesises in Germany and very good weather. But now it is time for a new gallery and the maskparty provides more than enough possibilities to take pictures. I don't remember when it was so crowded in Nacksta the last time. Someone heard the police coming...?

Orr Berget (07/03/11)

Sunday afternoon... time for a walk and a new adventure. This time we started a walk till Kliss Berget a place which Markus and I wanted to see since we saw the sign the first time. Actually the snow stopped us 1.6 km before we reached our target. So I still don't know where and what the Kliss Berget is. Some kind of hill of course, but how does it look like? We'll see...

Slutspelhockey (07/03/10)

Luckyly Ulrich, Petter and I got some tickets for the playoff game Timrå vs Modo in the arena in Timrå. It was my first hockey game I saw live and hopefully it was not the last one. You can see so much more compared to the television... all these small fights and also the atmosphere was so impressive.

Wiebke's birthday (07/03/09)

A nice birthday party, but since I forgot to charge the batteries for my camera I just made some pictures. One interesting fact of this party was, that it was supposed to start not before ten o'clock . Therefore Markus and I could watch Stargate Atlantis, as we did last week. Perhaps the beginning of a new tradition...

Kårhuset (07/03/03)

What should I say. It is not my first gallery from a party at Kårhuset and probably not the last one. I think the people seem to be very happy this time. I don't know why... Before we had a preparty at Ulrich's place and where they drink Absinth. This time they burned just sugar and not their mouth. Unluckyly there are no pictures form the total moon eclipse, because of clouds.

Goodbye Mädels (07/02/27)

After a stay of around two weeks in Sweden the four German intruders leaving the country again. Not without having a really tasty goodbye dinner. Many swedish people were there and for a short time even more than Germans.
I want to say thank you to them because they donated me "Cluedo" a game I always wanted to play, but never did before.

This weekend it was time to travel to Germany and visiting my girlfriend Katharina. It was so great. Finally I met some of her friends and know a little bit more about the city.
Katharina, thanks for this beautiful weekend. I enjoyed it sooo much. I love you more than everything else and I am looking forward to show you Sundsvall and my friends in 6 weeks.

Apres Ski (07/02/17)

Today there was a Apres Ski party in the Kårhuset. I had much fun with my visitors from Osnabrück and their friends. Furthermore I met Andreas again, who is doing his thesis now and therefore is not that often at the university. But I think the motto "Apres Ski" doesn't really reached the people because almost all were looking as always.

Dinners (07/02/16)

It was time for another goodbye-dinner. It was for Uli and I forgot my camera. But this gallery is about a goodbye dinner for Basti, a dinner at Uli's place and a pancake dinner as Uli had a Markus place. So although it was not the dinner yesterday I finally have a gallery with some dinners, because there were to less pictures for an extra gallery for every dinner.

Beer and further alcohol. Nothing for me, but nevertheless a joined the "Kneipentour". I think it is an activity where you should drink and need to drink to have really fun and also on the after-party I was more tired than amused...

Salsa Party (07/02/09)

This was my first private party in the city center. The topic was Salsa and some more latin dances. But I was that late, that I missed the lessons, which were held by some teachers I already know form the Salsa Course last semster. I think the flat was really nice. Now I am in Sweden for over half a year but I never went to this place with so many "interesting" people dancing to the same kind of music which is also played everywhere else. Summer party (07/01/29)

...what a stupid idea! But it works. Many came in summer dresses and a good heating was doing the rest to bring the right summer feeling. Thanks to Ulrich and Solene who offered there flat for such an amount of people. I guess we were at least 50 to 60.

Welcome dinner (07/01/27)

As the new students arrived a welcome dinner organized by the international commitee is necessary. The food was quite good but as always a little bit too less. But I think I get used to it and therefore I had something to eat before ;o) The party after-wards was also nice with good music. The walk home was a little bit icy, but I will not complain. Sundsvall at night (07/01/05)

This evening I was able to take pictures form the Norra and Södra Berget, the two bigger hills in the north and south of Sundsvall. Petter was so kind to drive me there with his car. EES-Xmas Party (06/12/22)

As every year on the last thursday or friday before Christmas my study program in Germany celebrated a Christmas Party where everybody who is abroad tells something about his or her studies. Before I went to the student house I was celebrating Petter's "still 29"-Party as the only Not-Swedish guest there. Det var mycket vacker och trevlig. Polarlights (06/12/14)

INCREDIBLE!!! BEAUTIFUL!!! POLARLIGHTS!!! These lights are really impressive. The way they move and the different kind of colours are better than every firework. And combined with all these shooting stars I will never forget this evening. [zip]

Last Salsa (06/12/14)

This week was the last week Salsa course. As a surprise Julio our teacher prepared a diploma for all who were there. I think this course was really much fun and I would recommend it to everybody who likes at least a litte bit of dancing. It is incredible how many figures we learned, but I think I will forget most of them quite soon... [zip]

Goodbye Party (06/12/13)

Now it is really time to leave for many people. So Felix and Sandra decided to give a goodbye cocktail party in their flat. Because it was a wednesday and quite loud we had to leave there flat at one o'clock. Otherwise one guy in their house wanted to call the police. Therefore we went to Jonny's flat where the people celebrated until 6 o'clock. [zip]

I think it was a good idea to go to O'Learys this evening instead of watching a movie in Nacksta. I could see some exchange-students for a last time and have a nice party with them before they go back to their home-countries.

Actually this was the birthday-party of Ulli. Her birthday was some days ago but we celebrated neverheless today for a second time. I used the time to try some things with my camera, because I know that Ulrike also likes camera-experiments. I found some new ideas for further pictures. Anna's birthday-party (06/12/02)

This evening we celebrated into Anna's birthday. Most of our guests were German or Swedish. It was quite nice althought the Spanish and Italien people only came for around 30 minutes, because they want to have a party in the city center. We celebrated far over 4 o'clock and I think I will be tired tomorrow, when there is a christmas market in Sundsvall. [zip]

Today I had a walk through the woods behind the Nacksta Ghetto. I wanted to make some nice pictures but I didn't found a place for my camera, so I just enjoyed the view and tried some other things. Time to Salsa (06/11/29)

As I take part in the Salsa-course I was invited to the todays Salsa-party in the Kårhus. We began at eight o'clock with some food. At nine o'clock there was an introduction lessen for all who were interested. So everybody could dance at least a little bit Salsa on the real party afterwards. And there were many people, some I had never seen before. [zip]

It's men's night (06/11/25)

This night we were a group of just men. Petter invited Stephan, Markus, Ulrich and me to his place. Becaus we didn't know where he lives we went through the rain to Andreas and from there with the Taxi to him. Later we checked out O'Learys. I was there for the first time but I liked it. By the way, O'Learys closes at 3 o'clock and not at two as so many others. [zip]

Goodbye-Dinner (06/11/22)

Because some Exchange-Students will leave soon, there was a goodbye-dinner in the kårhuset. There were so many people with cameras. I even had to take some group-pictures with four cameras. All with the same perspective. Perhaps the people trust in me and that was the reason why I should take them or they don't and that was why I should take so many. :o) [zip]

EILC2006 ReUnion (06/11/18-19)

100 days after the start of the EILC we have to say goodbye to the first participants, who go home in two weeks. Therefore we had a big goodbye coffee and a even bigger goodbye party in the evening. Everyone was so friendly and I enjoyed the time in Östersund so much. Thanks to all of you, making me "feeling home, right from the beginning"!

Dinner - Master course (06/11/15)

My dinner for today was at the students' house. It was paid from the university and for the participants of the Masterprogram in Electronic Design. The burger I had was really good and also the dessert "glass med bär" (ice cream with berries) was quite nice. Afterwards some swedish guys, Ulrich and I had a nice talk. I think such a dinner is very good although many left quite early. [zip]

Making a movie (06/11/14)

Some of the exchange students have to produce a movie as a project-work. But I think almost every exchange student is involved. Perhaps someone of us will be a great actor in the future. Nevertheless I really have to watch the movie when it is ready, because I had even one sentence in it. I am also looking forward to the promised Thank-You-Pizza-Dinner. [zip]

Visit from Katharina (06/11/10-12)

This weekend my girlfriend visited me in Stockholm, after 14 weeks without her. It was so nice, although it was raining the whole saturday and she had to leave very early on sunday. Saturday evening I could take some beautiful night-pictures from the city and destroy the romantic atmosphere by taking them. ;o)

Tati's 22nd Birthday (06/11/09)

Today was Tati's birthday. She turned 22. The Motto of the party was "Salsa" but as you can see on the pictures we danced only a little bit of Salsa but more Limbo. I think some of the people doing it very good and it was great fun to see them. Even the tall Dutch-guys tried their best. So what else to say, perhaps only: Feliz cumpleaños, Tati. [zip]

Halloween at Kåren (06/11/04)

I think this was a very good party, not only because many people were dressed very nice. I could see some very interesting dresses I would not even think about. The other reasen was the Laser-Show and the professional DJ/VJ from global veejays. He really knows how to mix up music. All in all I think this was one of the best parties in the Kårhuset. [zip]

This evening there was a music party at the Spanish girls' place. They asked everyone to bring three of our favorite songs. I think this was quite a nice idea. It was simular to the idea of the Pipeline, where you can bring 20min of your favorite music on a special party every second friday. [zip]

Oktoberfest? (06/10/28)

An Oktoberfest in the Kårhuset. That sounds nice, but in fact it was no real Oktoberfest. At least the decoration and the barkeeper look a bit Bavarian. But the promised German music was cancelled. Instead they played a mixture of everything, also some Swedish Summersongs. But it was nice and our guest Seppel from Östersund had fun, I think. [zip]

This evenig there was a Halloween Party in Joachim's home. Everyone brought some things, so there was enough to drink and eat for everyone. Salsa-Party (06/10/14)

Passend zur Salsaparty in der Liquid-Bar kam Joana aus Härnösand zu Besuch. Da in Härnösand der Hund begraben ist, hat sie sich richtig gefreut mal rauszukommen und ich glaube, ihr Musikgeschmack wurde auch getroffen. Ich habe festgestellt, dass sich die Musik doch relativ häufig wiederholt und ich auch mal nach Alternativlocations Ausschau halten sollte. [zip]

Disco-Bowling (06/10/07)

Nachdem wir zunächst eine Stunde gebowlt haben, (ich war, nebenbei gesagt, ziemlich schlecht) sind wir losgezogen um ein wenig Timos und Hendriks Abschied zu feiern. Beide fahren nächste Woche zurück nach "good old Germany". Deshalb sollte es eigentlich ihr Abend sein und ich hoffe, dass sie, trotz ständigem Kneipenwechsels, Spaß hatten. [zip]

Imans 22. Geburtstag (06/10/05)

Die zweite spanische Party, natürlich zu einer für Spanier typischen Zeit, was aber wohl am Salsakurs vorher gelegen hat. Angefangen hat sie um 22:30 Uhr und dementsprechend lange ging sie dann auch. Das positive daran war, dass ich die Wunderwaffe Kaffee entdeckt habe, die mich sehr sicher durch die Vorlesung, am nächten Morgen, um acht gebracht hat. [zip]

In der Galerie findet Ihr Bilder von verschiedenen Ereignissen. So z. B. zwei Nachtaufnahmen aus meinem Zimmer, Fotos von Wanjas Abschiedsessen, der Karaoke-Party im Dalton's und das anschließende Pizza-Essen von Markus und mir. Studio 54 Party (06/09/30)

Dass die Party eine der größten im Herbst sein sollte, hat man am Anfang gar nicht gemerkt. War schon noch sehr leer um 22:45 Uhr, weil die Leute von der Poolparty noch nicht da waren. Auch das Studio 54 Motto war nicht wirklich zu erkennen. Am Ende war es aber aber schon sehr voll. So voll, dass ich 35 min auf meine Jacke warten musste. Aber spaßig war es![zip]

Partyhopping (06/09/29)

Diesen Abend hieß es Partyhopping! Erst waren wir auf einem Bosnischen Fest, auf das uns Ismeta eingeladen hab. Danach war das Pipeline angesagt. Eine Musiklocation, wo kein Alkohol ausgeschenkt wird. Anschließend ging es in ein Irish-Pub zum Darten und zu guter letzt noch in die Liquid-Bar. Da war dann auch Tanzen angesagt. [zip]

Höga Kusten (06/09/23-24)

Tja, da war ich mal wieder sehr aktiv. Habe insgesamt 265 Fotos gemacht. Damit Ihr euch nicht alle angucken müsst, hab ich ein wenig ausgedünnt. Fand außerdem, dass es zu viele für eine Galerie sind und habe den Trip ein wenig aufgeteilt.
Fazit: Ich bin ganz hin und weg! Wahnsinnig schön! Danke ans Wetter, das so super mitgespielt hat. ;o)

Ulrich's 26. Geburstag (06/09/22)

Achtung: Nicht verwechseln! Die Geburtstagsfeier von Ulrich war am 22. September. Ulrichs Geburtstag ist allerdings schon am 21. gewesen. Das war gut für mich. War auf zwei Geburtstagsfeiern und wurde noch zum Kuchen-Frühstuck eingeladen. Und: Kuchen gab es wirklich genug. Sehr praktisch diese Geburtstage. [zip]

Wie angekündigt, kommen hier die Bilder von meinem Zimmer. Und wo ich gerade dabei war, habe ich auch gleich den Rest der Wohnung mit fotografiert. Alle Wohnungen der Exchange-Students sind gleich geschnitten. Nur die Möbel unterscheiden sich teilweise ein wenig. Also kennt man eine, kennt man alle und niemand muss fragen wo die Toilette ist. ;o) [Zip]

Wieder Sonntag, wieder ein See! Diesmal aber ein anderer. Er ist Teil eines Sumpfgebietes und ich hab mir meine Hose versaut. Das bedeutet dann wohl wieder waschen! Gut, dass ich noch eine Maschine morgen früh um acht buchen konnte. Ansonsten sah der See sehr schön aus und ist bestimmt auch gut zum Schwimmen und Angeln. [Zip]

Brännboll - Brennball (06/09/16)

Heute hat das International-Commitee ein Brennball-Spiel für uns organisiert. Oder besser einen Platz und zusätzlich ein paar Schläger und Bälle mitgebracht. Das Spielfeld lag in der Nähe der Uni, zu dem wir zu Fuß hingegangen sind. Glaube den Weg kennen wir ja inzwischen allzu gut. Im Anschluss gab es noch ein Fußball-Spiel in Nacksta. Double Feature (06/09/15)

Melody Bar - 360°

Zunächst waren wir in der Melody Bar, die auch 360° genannt wird. Vor 22 Uhr war der Eintritt frei. So konnten wir 90 Kronen sparen. Da die Karaoke-Party da aber nicht so gut und auch sonst wenig los war, sind wir weiter, ins Kåren, gezogen! [Zip]

Kårhuset

Tja, im Kåren haben wir dann einige bekannte Gesichter gesehen. Es waren viele Exchange-Students da. Vorher waren wir ja eine reine Ex-EILC-Gruppe. Ansonsten gibt es nicht viel dazu zu sagen, außer, dass es mal wieder sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat und es sicherlich die richtige Entscheidung war, da noch hinzugehen. [Zip]

Basketball-Spiel Schweden (06/09/11)

Heute hat die schwedische Basketball-Nationalmannschaft ein Qualifikationsspiel für die Basketball-EM bestritten. Um es vorweg zu nehmen. Schweden hat 81:71 gegen die Ukraine gewonnen. Die Karten hab ich durch Zufall umsonst beim Stubo erhalten. Danke deshalb an Hendrik, der mir den Tipp gegeben hat. [Zip]

International BBQ (06/09/11)

Das internationale Kommitee hat einiges für uns Exchange-Students geplant. So auch ein Grillfest in Nacksta (es gab lecker Hot Dogs). Es waren auch glaub ich so ziemlich alle da. Gut, daß es um 18 Uhr angefangen hat. Es wurde doch sehr schnell dunkel und kühl. Haben aber doch noch recht lange durchgehalten. [Zip]

Sara's Geburtstagsparty (06/09/11)

Heute Abend war die Geburtstagsparty von Sara. Eine der Italienerinnen. Dürfte mit ihrem blau-gelben-Schwedenhut sehr leicht zu erkennen sein. Der Anfangstequila hat glaub ich schon mal richtig die Stimmung aufgelockert, so dass sich alle ins Partygetümmel gestürzt haben. Die Stimmung war wieder mal super. Denke, daß alle viel Spaß hatten. Da wohne ich ja jetzt in einer WG mit der Anna und der Karo. Zwei ganz nette. Hoffentlich verstehen wir uns nach einem Jahr noch genauso gut wie jetzt und sind immer noch zu Späßen aufgelegt. Weil das Wetter so schön war, haben wir eine Wanderung zum "Sidsjön" gemacht. Das ist ein (kleiner) See in der Nähe von Nacksta. Die Lage ist echt idyllisch. Bin schon sehr neidisch auf Georg, meinem Fellow, der dort sein Zimmer hat. Werde bestimmt noch öfter hingehen und bestimmt auch mal komplett herum. [Zip]

Karolines 22. Geburtstag (06/09/10)

Gestern Abend (09. September) haben wir in Karos Geburtstag reingefeiert. Da Karo mit mir in der WG wohnt, war ich zwanghaft mit eingespannt. War für die Musik zuständig. ;-) Es gab übrigens viel zu viel Kuchen und auch sonstiges Essen. Die Feier war, wenn auch nicht so groß wie manch andere, sehr schön. Boda Borg die Zweite (06/09/09)

Zum zweiten Mal auf Boda Borg. Diesmal mit den Exchance Students. Insgesamt sind wir 39 gewesen. Unsere Gruppe war deutlich internationaler. Wir waren jeweils zu viert. In meiner Gruppe waren außer mir noch ein Holländer, eine Amerikanerin und ein Amerikaner. Diesmal hatten wir auch mehr Zeit, so dass ich gestern acht neue Stempel ergattern konnte. [Zip]

Welcome-Party im Kårhuset (06/09/06)

Nachdem ich schon letztes Wochenende das Kårhuset kennenlernen durfte, war am Mittwoch die Welcome-Party für die Exchance Students. Ab etwa 23 Uhr waren auch Schweden da. Dennoch war es diesmal nicht so voll wie am Samstag zuvor. Verständlicherweise. Trotzdem war die Stimmung gut und es wurde ausgelassen gefeiert. [Zip]

Norra Berget (06/09/04)

Bevor wir endlich in Nacksta unsere Zimmer/Wohnungen beziehen durften, wurden wir noch ein wenig durch die Stadt gefahren und uns wurden einige Sehenswürdigkeiten gezeigt. Dazu gehörte auch die Aussicht auf die Stadt vom Nord-Berg, dem "Norra Berget". Die Sicht auf Sundsvall war trotz schlechten Wetters doch noch sehr gut und es sind mir einige gute Fotos gelungen, bevor der große Regen kam. [Zip]

Heute waren wir auf einer Studentenparty im Kårhuset. Das ist ein Gebäude der Studentenvereinigung, in das normalerweise nur Studenten reinkommen.
